The following blog post was written on the evening of the 16th July. Due to technological restrictions it was posted at a later date.
There are a few of us who walk in the morning before breakfast. While walking in the morning, very early, you smell Daka smoke blowing through the air. You smell it in the afternoon. You smell it at night. You pretty much can smell it anytime, but it is particularly strong in the morning.
You see small children, usually boys, smoking it in the corners.
It grows outside peoples homes.
Nobody seems to do much about it, even though it is supposed to be illegal. We were told that the police only go after big sellers trying to get it across the border and, for the most part, it is South African police that are trying to stop it and Lesotho police have other things to do.
