Sesotho Lessons

The following blog post was written on the evening of 6 July. Due to technological restrictions it was posted at a later date.

Our Sesotho lessons are challenging for me. I am trying really hard to make the sounds in the order that they are supposed to be said, but sometimes I feel like my tongue is getting in the way.

There are a few of us (Holly) who are totally absorbing it…others who don’t even take notes and then looked shocked when they are asked a question (Doug)…and most of us who are simply trying the best we can and have managed to get a few sayings.

Lumela – Greetings

U Phela Jang – How are you?
Ke Phela Hantle – I am fine.

Kea Leboha – Thank you

Lebitso La Hao O Mang? – What is your name?
Lebitso la ka ke Dana. – My name is Dana.

Otsoa Kae? – Where are you from?
Otsoa United States – I am from the United States

If you are interested in hearing part of a Sesotho lesson, a video will be available here soon.

Ke tsoa United States.

Keep up the good work, and don't forget to check out this list and to ask questions there (in the comment section) if needs be.

I would appreciate more visual materials, to make your blog more attractive, but your writing style really compensates it. But there is always place for improvement
