Navy Hill

The following blog post was written on the evening of the 11th July. Due to technological restrictions it was posted at a later date.

In Bloem, there is a place called Navy Hill. It named that because the German Navy provided the Boers with naval guns in fight the British from the top of the hill. Anyway, at the top is a nature park and an overlook.

While driving through the park we saw several animals-the kinds that you probably would assume we would see while in Africa! We saw giraffes, wildebeests, springbok, and ostriches! It was pretty neat to be driving and all of a sudden see them at the side of the bus.

We also enjoyed a beautiful view of Bloemfontein, which is a sprawling city.
