African Pengiuns

The following blog post was written on the evening of the 5th of August while in Cape Town!

Many people may be surprised to hear there are penguins in Africa, specifically the African Penguin. They used to be called the Jackass penguin because of the loud donkey-like braying call they make. Today we went to Boulders National Park along False Bay, to see the penguins for ourselves.

I guess that I thought that we would, you know, see a few penguins in the distance. I had no idea that we would literately be walking between and around penguins on the beach! Plus, there were thousands of them-they were everywhere.

These penguins are currently a vulnerable species; of the 1.5

Wow! That is great. I never knew there was such a thing. Marisol is super jealous that you got to hang out with penguins on the beach.
