The Big Tree, The Tsitsikamma (Garden of the Garden Route)

The following blog post was written on the evening of the 2nd of August in the car driving on the Garden Route to Knysna, South Africa

One stop on our drive today was in the Tsitsikamma forest, which is called the Garden of the Garden Route. The Garden Route is the section of the N2 that we are currently driving.

The Tsitsikamma forest is the home to the “Big Tree,” which we hiked our way into the forest to see. It was, indeed, a very big yellowwood tree. Maybe it was even huge. It is over 800 years old. It was nice to be able to walk around a bit and it is impressive how much greener this part of the country is.
