The following blog post was written on the evening of the 2nd of August in the car driving on the Garden Route to Knysna, South Africa
The area we were driving today was the birthplace and home Tolkien, at least that is what people have told us. It is easy to image being inspired by the surroundings we found ourselves in and I could envision some of the book’s characters jumping out from behind the ferns at any moment.
We made a couple of stops at overlooks along the way to, well, overlook upon the beauty.
