One of confusing aspect of driving in South Africa is the name changes. Many areas continue to change the name of streets, cities, buildings, and more since the end of apartheid in 1994. The sign in this picture is in Durban, which still includes the former names of streets on signs to help confused people like us. You can image how frustrating it is in areas that have completely replaced signs or if you happen to purchase an map made prior to the changes.
