The Cape of Good Hope





The following blog post was written on the evening of the 5th of August while in Cape Town!

Today we drove down to the Cape of Good Hope, the southern most point of the Cape peninsula (but not of Africa, that is at Cape Agulhas National Park to the east of Cape Point). It popularly perceived to be the place where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet, although we now know that this geographically also occurs at Cape Agulhas National Park.


The cliffs above the point are over 200 meters high, providing a spectacular view of the vibrantly blue waters below.
There was also a sign indicating how far the Cape of Good Hope lighthouse is from different points around the world. It was incredible to see that New York City is over 12, 541 km away!
